· To celebrate the day as a school community, the students and teachers took part in a book table quiz. The quiz took place over the intercom and all year groups participated. The questions were aimed at all year groups and it certainly reminded some students (and teachers) of their childhood books. Questions involved authors like Roald Dahl, Enid Blyton and Walt Disney and tested the students on their favourite childhood books. Some rounds however involved our previous book of the month books and there was a great score from these rounds. This showed that students took our advice and read our recommendations!
· There was a great competitive buzz and the music round and picture round heightened the atmosphere in the school.
The winners were:
· 1st place went to 5th years:
· Second place went to 3rd years:
· Joint third place went to 5th and 6TH years:
All winners received an invitation to the exclusive screening of the movie “The Maze Runner” which is a movie adaptation of the novel by James Dashner and is a previous book of the month winner also and first place winners won vouchers for Easons.
A great day was had by all. Congratulations to all the winners and always remember a book is a magical thing that lets you travel to faraway places without ever leaving your chair.
Happy World Book Day!
